"I would love to learn charms" I told the professor. "Im your new student" I said smiling, and sat down.

Perry was running horribly late! She rushed into the room, a bit of parchment trailing the ground from her ever-present messenger bag. Ratty jeans peeked out from underneath her voluminous black robes. She shunted her armful of books onto the desk before hastily organizing her things and composing herself. She stood atop her chair and scrawled her name across the blackboard in large, cursive-ish letters it read, "Paradigm Langsley, Charms."
Perry dismounted the chair and faced the room with a smile, "Good morning, everyone!" She said in her most mature, urbane voice. "My name is Professor Langlsey. You might have seen me around campus. I am a Slytherin student, but within these four walls, you will refer to me as Professor Langsley." She nodded with a curt smile before producing a large, pink doorknob from a recessed pocket in her robes. "Because I am part sidhe, the headmistress felt it appropriate that I teach charms. Charms are oftentimes seen as good, or perhaps slightly mischievous. Hexes, on the other hand, are oftentimes detrimental to those that they befall." She looked around, "Oh, and you might want to take notes...there will be a test." She nodded before continuing, "Now, this doorknob, which I will install after this class, has been charmed so that if you are on time for class, it will let you in. If you are late, however, your hand will be jolted with a quick burst of electricity. Not enough to hurt, but just enough so that you'll remember to be on time for class tomorrow." She then produced several large, orange buttons. "Now, for your first assignment..." She went around the room, handing every person a button. "You will charm this button to glow bright white when touched using the incantation lumos clausus."
She returned to the front of the room, "You have until the end of class to show me your handiwork, which will be gauged on the thorough coverage and clarity of light, as well as the pureness of the white spectrum." She clapped her hands, "Now go, and when you are done and I've seen your work, you have a foot-and-a-half scroll due tomorrow morning on a brief history of the usage of charms. You may stay and write or you may leave when you have completed your classwork. Either way, this assignment is due first thing tomorrow. If you have any questions, comments, concerns or complaints, I will be at my desk." She seated herself and began formatting the assignment for the next day's class.

"ok, sooo, your the profesor?" i said sad.

Perry turned those triple-ringed eyes onto the speaker, "Yes, I'm the professor." She said with mock cheer, her tone slightly scathing. "Do you have any problems? Questions? Need help with anything...?" She raised one eyebrow in an inquisitive challenge, laying her quill down and folding her hands atop her desk.

"Yes" i said, "i have a problem...you" then i sat down.

Perry let out a thinly-veiled sigh of aggravation, "Yes, I'm the charms professor. I got the job before the term started." She closed her eyes, regaining her composure. "Now, you need to start on the assignment, or you will receive failing grades for the day regardless. Go on; hop to it." She nodded curtly.

"I want your blood" i mumbled to the professor.

Perry's eyes flashed with contempt, "What was that?" She snarled, her voice straining to be polite. "If there is any sort of dissent, we can either sort this out now or we can sort it out after class, either way, I will remove three points from your house for being disrespectful." She snapped, "Is that clear!?"

"dont get me mad", i mumbled again. I need blood, i thought.

I rushed into the classroom. When I tried to open the door I bruned my hand a little. "Ouch!" I yelled

"Sorry I'm late professore" I said quickly taking my seat, still holding my hand.

"haha" i laughed quietly, "sorry, i drew a weird vampire" i said and kept drawing.

Perry raised an eyebrow at the petulant student. "I'd like for you to leave my classroom. I won't tolerate anyone being disrespectful while I'm trying to actually teach something." She turned to face the girl who'd just entered with a broad, genuine smile. "It's alright. We were just getting started. Brief rundown: This is charms. Please take an orange button from my desk, and using the incantation in your book, make the button glow. You'll have until the rest of the period. Is the doorknob's voltage too strong?" She inquired, genuinely concerned. "I don't to hurt anyone, I just want to scare people a bit. It's an incentive to be on time for class..."

"No, it isn't. It was just...unexpected." I said taking a button from the professor's table, and getting back to my seat.

"oh my" i said with a sigh.

Perry sighed, rubbing her temples in exasperation. "When you are all done, please show me your assignments, then you are free to go. Don't forget your homework. It's due next class meeting! And you..." She turned her attention to the new student, "You may go as well, but you will be hearing from the headmistress soon about your impudence. I suggest you keep your attitude in check in the future."

I concentrated at the button in front of me.

"lumos clausus" I said pointing my wand at the button

I touched it but nothing happened. I did the spell again and touched the button. Now it was glowing white.

"Here, profesor, I'm done" I said

I chuckled quietly hoping no one would hear it.

Perry turned her attention Helen, "Don't just say the words, mean them." She squinted a bit, looking upward as she grasped the words. "Don't just believe it will work. Know it will work. Put some muscle into it!" She giggled playfully. "It'll work; promise!" She then turned to Brandy, "I'm all for equality, since I'm a student too, but I'm not going to be disrespected while I'm trying to teach a class. She said something about 'wanting my blood,' and that was basically the straw that broke the camel's back. She isn't working on the assignment, and I've had it up to here..." She gestured vaguely above her head, "I was going to take away three house points or send her to the headmistress. Or both..." She added with finality.
